The graph above shows the total amount of VC funding broken out by type. From 2006 to 2015, we saw a general increase in all the different types. There has been a decrease in overall funding in 2016, and Series A, Series B, and Series C funding events make up the majority of funding amount types.
The graph above shows the total count of funding events broken out by type. Over the past decade we’ve seen a gradual upward trend that peaked in 2013, held roughly constant through 2015, then dipped in 2016. Seed, Series A, and Series B make up the majority of funding event counts.
