1. MakerBot (www.makerbot.com) – MakerBot is the leading manufacturer of open-sourced 3D printers and 3D printing products. The company provides a wide array of powerful 3D printers and 3D printed products used by large customers such as Skype, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Toyota. The company also offers 3D printing learning sessions and 3D design services led by their industry experts as well. In April 2015, MakerBot’s 3D design community, Thingiverse, formed a partnership with world’s largest 3D printing network 3D Hubs, so that MakerBot’s 3D printing designers could send their designs directly to print.
2. Shapeways (www.shapeways.com) – Shapeways is the leading 3D printing marketplace and community that enable users to create 3D printed products from design to production and sell them on the website as well. The company also offer a huge collection of 3D printed products designed and produced by its community of designers. In April 2015, Shapeways debuted its newest 3D printing material, Frosted Extreme Detail (FXD), which features twice as fine detail as its predecessor Frosted Ultra Detail (FUD). FXD uses the same resin and printer but prints in 16 micron layers, which makes it ideal for finer products such as miniatures, figurines, and casting molds.
